Making Delicious Matcha Desserts At Home!

Two weeks ago (before and during the imposition of Enhanced Community Quarantine again in the National Capital Region of the Philippines), I got addicted to reading online romance novels thru various apps like NovelCat. I haven’t read romance novels for more than 5 years, because I wanted to focus more on reading self-help books. But due to the pandemic, anything that keeps me sane, I take it!

The books I read are very good, the authors know it is so good that they charge you a few dollars to be able to access a certain number of chapters. I wanted to finish the books (I read only 2) so badly that I did not mind paying. I just stopped when I realized that the story seemed unending (one story I was already on Chapter 380 only to realize that more than 200 chapters are for “unlocking”), and I spent already more than $50 (₱2,000 in Philippine peso)! Plus I slept less and I wasn’t able to accomplish anything related to work because reading took a lot of my time.

Then my hubby’s cousin posted something on Facebook related to online novels. She said she is reading a very interesting story but still waiting for more chapters. She said she got it for free on Facebook and she sent me a link. When I clicked the link, I realized it was a compilation of photos of pages of the online novels. I know one cannot screenshot the pages of the online novels, so the pages are photographed using another gadget. Aside from the fact that I don’t want to spend too much time anymore with online novels, I did not want to read the “free” books because they are actually “illegally” acquired. I don’t like to support such things because I think it is an insult to the talents and efforts of the writers of the stories and the creators of the online platform.

The very same reason why I do not support imitation brands. Some brands are expensive because aside from the fact that they target a certain customer bracket, they are also of better quality and made by people who invested their time and talents in making such products. I am an entrepreneur too so I like to give respect to other entrepreneurs’ time and effort — the same respect I want people to give me.

Ah, basta! I guess you know where I am getting at.

So yeah, since I cannot afford anymore to buy more chapters, let us just get back to baking which is another proven stress reliever this pandemic.

Let’s make Matcha desserts! Matcha has a lot of health benefits. Aside from taking them as a beverage, let’s try to play with it and incorporate it to our desserts!
